Wreaths Across America's Trucking Tributes Presents Truckstop

Professional drivers and trucking companies give so much to the nation. Without the transportation industry, the Wreaths Across America mission to remember, honor, and teach would be nearly impossible. Veterans’ wreaths move by planes, trains, ships, and livestock trailers, but trucks and their professional drivers transport the lion’s share of America's respect. In 2021, to be specific, 525 truckloads of wreaths were delivered, representing 390 different carriers.

In November and December, one of the busiest periods of the year for the transportation sector, the Wreaths Across America mission brings drivers together in an effort of unparalleled unity. With a positive, “can-do” work ethic, that unity makes it possible for Americans to honor millions of veterans laid to rest here at home and overseas. In 2022, with over 3,700 participating locations, in addition to Arlington National Cemetery, transportation logistics are immense.

Many of these drivers are veterans and say the truckload of fresh balsam-fir wreaths is the most precious cargo they transport in their careers. Wreaths Across America highlights their steadfast commitment in the “Trucking Tributes” feature online and on Wreaths Across America Radio.

The Wreaths Across America mission grows every year, and this edition of Trucking Tributes introduces a new transportation partner this year. Truckstop is one of the industry’s largest neutral freight marketplaces and trusted SaaS provider to the freight transportation community. “We like to think of ourselves as a small business incubator that helps small business America chase their dreams,” shared Brent Hutto, Chief Relationship Officer. “Whether it be a small owner-operator or a brokerage company, or a large public entity, we help people find freight.”

Nearly fifty percent of Truckstop’s customers are also members of the Truckload Carriers Association (TCA), and that’s how Truckstop heard about the Wreaths Across America mission. “Typically, people in this industry want to be part of something that has a great purpose behind it and is something worthy,” Brent explained the company’s motivation to get involved. “We’re a character-driven company, and what we saw in this was our ability to help Wreaths Across America find trucks. We want to communicate that this is a great way to get involved as you move millions of wreaths.”

Truckstop will be participating for the first time in 2022, and they’re excited because they feel it’s a relationship they can build upon in years to come. “I’ll never forget my first time at Arlington, standing beside one of my friends and mentor as he placed a wreath and honored his father, whom he barely knew. He had died in service to our country. We can’t forget, and we must teach, teach, teach. I’ve been there three times, and it’s a very peaceful and humbling experience to think about what was sacrificed for us to be able to enjoy our lives. We want to be a part of something meaningful, and we’ve found it in Wreaths Across America.”

Thank you, Brent, and the entire team at Truckstop, for your support of our mission. You can hear Brent’s full interview on Trucking Tributes, listened to every Truckin’ Tuesday at 11:00 AM and again at 4:00 PM (Eastern) on Wreaths Radio.
