Richard Noreika- Part 2
This week, we feature part 2 of a multi-part interview with Retired U.S. Navy CAPT Richard Noreika. Captain Noreika graduated from the United States Naval Academy, Class of '59, 3rd Company, with a degree in engineering. In addition to serving on the destroyer the USS Bailey, Noreika also served on several submarines as either an executive officer or commanding officer. He finished off his 26-year long career with the Navy as the head of electronics at the Pentagon in Washington DC. Captain Noreika was interviewed on April 26, 2015, and July 29, 2015, by student Mikaela Morris, along with her mother Beth Morris.

Dr. Richard Carmona
Today’s featured guest is Dr. Richard Carmona, who was born in New York City of Puerto Rican descent, and raised in Harlem. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1967, and joined the United States Army Special Forces, became a combat-decorated Vietnam War veteran, and began his career in medicine as a Special Forces Medic. For injuries he sustained in Vietnam, Carmona received two Purple Hearts. Carmona later became the 17th surgeon general of the United States in July 2002, after being nominated by President George W. Bush in March of the that year, a role he served until July of 2006. This interview with Carmona was conducted By Imprints of Honor Founder Barbara Hatch, along with Vietnam Veteran David Lucier on September 24, 2014.

Kelsey, who served with the US Army for 30 years in infantry and then, after two tours of duty in Vietnam, went on to military intelligence, where he commanded a brigade of 3200 military and civilian operators during the fall of the Berlin Wall. Col Kelsey also served as the Army’s principal liaison with the CIA, NSA and DIA during Operation Desert Storm. Colonel Kelsey was interviewed on September 19, 2009, by student Jeffery Byers, along with Imprints of Honor founder Barbara Hatch.
