Arden Rowley- Part 1

COL Thomas Kirk, Jr.
This week, we feature an interview with Retired U.S. Air Force Col. Thomas H. Kirk Jr. COL Kirk flew in both the Korean and Vietnam Wars. During his 67th mission in Vietnam, his aircraft was damaged, and he was captured by North Vietnamese forces, spending the next 5-and-a-half years as a prisoner of war. Col Kirk was interviewed on May 24, 2011, by student Kevin Calabrese, along with Imprints of Honor Founder Barbara Hatch.

Frank Lambert- Part 1
This week, we feature part 1 of an interview with Frank Lambert. After graduating from West Point in 1964, Frank attended Airborne and Ranger School at Ft Benning and Jungle Survival School in Panama until the army assigned him as a Company Commander in Vietnam. Frank was interviewed on November 5, 2010, by students Nima Sadeghi and Ashley Durham, along with Imprints of Honor Founder Barbara Hatch.

This week, we feature part 1 of a two-part interview with COL Patricia Little-Upah. Patricia, who started her military career as a nurse in 1966, was deployed to Vietnam in 1968. She was later called to duty for Operation Desert Storm in 1991, where she served with the 403rd Combat Support Hospital. COL Little Upah was interviewed on October 14, 2008, by student Carolina Nick, with Imprints of Honor Founder Barbara Hatch.

Rick Romely
This week, we feature an interview with Rick Romley, who served in the Marines for the Vietnam War. Rick’s service was cut short when he was wounded by a landmine, resulting in the amputation of both of his legs above the knee. After his honorable discharge, Rick went on to become a prominent attorney in Arizona. Rick shares the stories of his time serving our nation, as well as his life after his service, on this interview conducted on December 21, 2013, by student Patrick Ward, along with Imprints of Honor Founder Barbara Hatch.
Dr. Richard Carmona
Today’s featured guest is Dr. Richard Carmona, who was born in New York City of Puerto Rican descent, and raised in Harlem. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1967, and joined the United States Army Special Forces, became a combat-decorated Vietnam War veteran, and began his career in medicine as a Special Forces Medic. For injuries he sustained in Vietnam, Carmona received two Purple Hearts. Carmona later became the 17th surgeon general of the United States in July 2002, after being nominated by President George W. Bush in March of the that year, a role he served until July of 2006. This week, we feature part 1 of a 3-part interview with COL James H.P. Kelsey, who served with the US Army for 30 years in infantry. After two tours of duty in Vietnam, he moved on to military intelligence, where he commanded a brigade of 3200 military and civilian operators during the fall of the Berlin Wall. Col Kelsey also served as the Army’s principal liaison with the CIA, NSA and DIA during Operation Desert Storm.

He finished off his 26-year long career with the Navy as the head of electronics at the Pentagon in Washington DC. Dr. Connie Mariano
This week, we feature an interview with Rear Admiral Connie Mariano, who enlisted in the US Navy in 1977. Mariano received a medical degree from the Uniformed Services University of Medicine in 1981, graduating as a lieutenant. After serving as a doctor on the USS Prairie and director of the internal medicine clinic at San Diego Naval Hospital, she was nominated by her commanding officer to serve as a Navy physician to the White House Medical unit under President George H. W. Bush. President Bill Clinton later appointed her as White House Physician and director of the White House Medical Unit, a position she held until she retired from the Navy in 2001.
