My great uncle sacrificed his life during the Korean war when an enemy grenade was launched into his area. He selflessly and knowingly threw his body upon it to save his fellow soldiers. Even before this act of heroism, he was known as an excellent soldier and leader during WWII. He was posthumously awarded the Medal of Honor. His legacy was a great source of pride for my grandfather and all of my family.
