REMEMBER the Fallen. . . HONOR those who Serve. . . TEACH our children the value of Freedom.
On December 14, 2024 starting at 12:00 pm, the Rickenbacker ANGB Civil Air Patrol Composite Squadron in conjunction with the Truro Township, City of Reynoldsburg Streets Dept. and many supporters are honored to be doing a Wreaths Across America Memorial Ceremony and wreath laying at Silent Home Cemetery. We will continue with a wreath laying at Friendship Primitive Baptist, Seceder Cemetery and Hill Road Cemetery. It is an honor to be placing wreaths on the gravestones of our Veterans. We welcome all who wish to join us for any of these events and thank you for your remembrance of our fallen heroes.
Silent Home Cemetery is an active cemetery and is the final resting place of over 225 of our Nation’s Veterans from every branch of service and almost every conflict, foreign and domestic. Silent Home Cemetery is owned and operated by Truro Township. Families from Reynoldsburg and the surrounding area have had loved ones placed at Silent Home for over 150 years. Their mausoleum has been in service since 1917.

The Rickenbacker ANGB Composite Squadron of the Civil Air Patrol (OH-121 GLR) on behalf of Silent Home Cemetery and the Reynoldsburg Historical Cemetery Project, invite friends, family, community and patriots to join us for our Wreaths Across America Wreath Laying Ceremony:
Saturday, December 14, 2024
Beginning promptly at 12:00 pm at Silent Home Cemetery (1576 Lancaster Ave., Reynoldsburg, OH 43068). Immediately following, we will walk across the street to Friendship Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery for a Ceremonial Wreath and Veteran Wreath Laying . We will then travel by car to Seceder Cemetery and Hill Road Methodist Cemetery to conduct a Ceremonial and Veteran Wreath Laying at these locations.
We anticipate having a Reynoldsburg Police escort which will make it easier for participants to follow our Squadron from cemetery to cemetery. We encourage you to bring your family, especially our youth. The most important thing to remember is to have a wonderful experience participating in the ceremony and thank you so much for helping us to carry out the mission to remember, honor and teach. For questions, please email: elizabeth.saunders@ohwg.cap.gov.
The wreath laying ceremony at Hill Road Baptist officially ends our Wreaths Across America program. However, weather permitting, our Squadron may also place a wreath at the grave site of Capt. Eddie Rickenbacker who is interred at Greenlawn Cemetery. Capt. Rickenbacker is the namesake of our Civil Air Patrol Squadron and a very important figure in Aviation and military history.
