My mom and dad died 3 weeks apart. My mom on September 11th, my dad on October 4th of 2023. I honor both of them because my mom was a military wife like I am. My dad did three tours in vietnam while my mom took care of us girls. My dad served honorably, and i'm lucky he actually came back for Vietnam. My mom used to sew the parachutes for the army. My dad up until the last few years served on the Alaska defense force. You could retire the man out of the army, but you couldn't take the army out of the man. My dad was also mayor of Houston Alaska for 6 years, volunteer fireman, and volunteer EMT. My dad was a wonderful dad and I truly miss him and my mom. My mom sacrificed so much raising his kids by herself during his career. They both deserve to be honored. My mom on Sept 11, 2023 and my dad on Oct 4, 2023. My dad served 3 long tours in Vietnam. My mom served in a different way by taking care of the family when my dad was gone and working. She was from South Korea and my dad Ft Fairfield Maine They were married 63 years on Sept 1, 2023. It has been a struggle dealing with them passing 3 weeks apart. To the day that my dad passed he was all about the military. He worked on the Alaska defense force for 14 years. I wish I was in Alaska to honor him with his wreath, but I live in San Antonio Tx where my husband retired from the Air Force. So I remember my mom and dad's sacrifices forever and miss them dearly.
