It’s official! Wreaths Across America has kicked off the 2025 wreath season!

Through supporting military veterans in their transition to the civilian workforce, Fastport discovered many of these individuals possessed a robust entrepreneurial spirit.

In honor of the upcoming 80th anniversary of the end of World War II, the Battleship Missouri Memorial and Wreaths Across America Radio proudly announce the launch of a new joint podcast: Last Battleship: The History, Heroes, and Legacy of the USS Missouri. Shortly after the Civil War, the Grand Army of the Republic organization buried soldiers who had financial troubles in graves across the country. And that includes many of the veterans buried in Section A of Rose Hill Cemetery.

2021 --Dec. 18 is National Wreaths Across America Day, and this is the perfect opportunity to not only serve our veterans but to serve as a family.

Local volunteers are working hard to ensure all veterans laid to rest at Rose Hill and White Oak cemeteries are honored this December on National Wreaths Across America Day. This year, the ceremony will be on Saturday, Dec. 17. The goal is to place a live, balsam fir veteran’s wreath at the headstone of every service member buried there and ensure no one is forgotten.

This year marks the park’s bicentennial, and Cory Hawkins, natural resource education specialist with the Bloomington Parks and Recreation Department, hopes more residents make a visit to Rose Hill.
