my grandfather, Willis E. Alexander, who served as a private from Co. L, 4th Reg't, Tenn. Infantry, and as a private from Co. F, 1st Reg't, U.S. Infantry. He was stationed in Cuba and the Philippines during the War with Spain and served for six years.
