2024 So Far
REMEMBER the Fallen. . . HONOR those who Serve. . . TEACH our children the value of Freedom.
Welcome to the In Memory of Todd R Perry's Wreaths Across America Page.
On December 13, 2025 at 12:00 pm, In Memory of Todd R Perry will be helping Great Lakes National Cemetery to Remember and Honor our veterans by laying Remembrance wreaths on the graves of our country's fallen heroes.
Todd Richard Perry, age 53, passed away peacefully on October 10 in Highland, Michigan. He was at home surrounded by his wife of 26 years, Anne-Marie (Champion), sons Luke (24) and Cole (19) and daughter Brooke (22). Todd fought a courageous battle with cancer over 19 months. His family is grateful for his selfless and relentless fight.
Todd will be missed by his longtime employer, Oscar W Larson Company, a firm founded by his great grandfather. Todd led an arm of the business. If you knew Todd, you knew he was born to lead, and he did so quietly and effortlessly. He always worked hard, never complained, and set the best example to all.
Todd’s life was filled with hobbies and interests outside of work. An exceptional multi-sport athlete at Lakeland High School (class of 1989), Todd excelled at golf, basketball and track. He could hit a drive a mile, dunk a basketball, and once high jumped 6’ 6”. Todd also enjoyed fishing, whether it be for largemouth bass on Oxbow Lake, or steelhead Up North. Each year, Todd, Anne-Marie and their kids would spend a week at St Pete’s Beach with friends (he was always surrounded by huge network of loyal friends). Todd could also be found in the woods, with Anne-Marie by his side, driving a snowmobile or his side by side. The day Todd won a smoker will be remembered fondly by many – Thanksgivings and family parties took a culinary leap through Todd’s impressive skill on that appliance. And when the Lions finally win the Superbowl, you can be sure Todd’s presence will be in the stadium.
Todd will be remembered as a loving, loyal, and generous husband, father, son, and brother. Because he was capable of so much, he gave of himself constantly and willingly. Everyone who knew him can surely recall times where their project/repair/problem was solved through a request to Todd for his help, and they probably laughed along the way due to his unique brand of humor. He will be forever missed by those he is survived by, including his mother, Linda; father, Ric (Sally); brothers Jamie (Anne) and Chris (Sarah); sister in laws, Laura Champion, Marsha Champion brother in law James Champion nephews Aidan Champion, Ethan, Justin Blake and Jax Perry. As well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A memorial visitation for Todd will be held Monday, October 14, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Elton Black & Son Funeral Home, 3295 E Highland Rd, Highland, Michigan 48356, followed by a memorial service at 12:00 PM.

Directions to Cemetery
***Shuttle Service and Parking ***
*Unfortunately, there is not sufficient parking at the cemetery for volunteers and offsite parking is necessary. This year every effort will be made to prevent shuttle bus delays and keep them moving as timely as possible. Please observe and respect the following rules and laws. Multiple state and local police departments will be participating and patrolling to see that they are enforced. Keeping the buses moving is a key part of making this an enjoyable experience for all.
*There is NO onsite parking at the cemetery for volunteers. The limited parking is reserved for the elderly and those needing assistance, They will park in the administration building lots. Parking cars on the side of the cemetery roads only delays buses and hinders the semi-trucks. Parking will be off site at the Ascension Genesys Hospital (a name change is in process for the hospital and will be Henry Ford Genesys) located at 1 Genesys Parkway off Holly Rd. just west of the I-75 Holly Rd. exit. Signs will direct you where to park. Busses to the cemetery will begin running at 9:30 AM.The busses will be unloading and picking up at the administration building.
*Police will be checking cars at the entrance for credentials. Those without will not be allowed to enter.
*State police will be operating Belford as a one-way road eastbound from Holly to Dixie Hwy. Cars that turn onto Belford from Holly and do not have credentials to enter the cemetery will not be allowed to turn around on Belford. They will be instructed by the police to continue east on Belford to Dixie Hwy and return to the shuttle bus lot from there. This is to keep returning traffic off Holly Rd. To keep it clear for emergency vehicles and to not delay the buses.
*Parking on the side or shoulder of Holly or Belford is prohibited by law. It creates unsafe passage for vehicles and delays the buses. Police will be patrolling these areas.
*Police will be onsite at the hospital and directing the buses through priority lanes to keep them moving.
*When you are on the grounds of the cemetery please make every effort to move off the road when buses are coming through. Every delay adds time to the bus route.
