In Honor Of
by Kyle A Williams for Eli T. Mackey, Army, Honored by New Paltz Rural Cemetery
To the 156th New York Volunteer Infantry, especially Private Eli T. Mackey - may they rest brave in honored graves, where the roar of cannon can no longer disturb them. May the reassuring hand of a beloved comrade forever rest upon their shoulder, and the comforting sound of drum and fife roll unheeded around them for the rest of eternity.
